Bull Shoals Honored as a Volunteer Community

The city of Bull Shoals has been chosen as one of 12 cities in Arkansas to receive the Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year Award.

The award was to be given to city officials December 16, 2002 at the state Municipal League Conference in Little Rock.

The city's volunteers were credited with operating the theater of the arts, comprising city clean-up crews and assisting the city in many of it services.

Organizations named as contributing to receiving the award were Bull Shoals Theater, Parks Committee, Historical Society, Cemetery Board, VFW, Library Board, Police Auxiliary, Fire Department Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Lions Club, Rotarians, Chamber of Commerce, Bull Shoals churches, as well as the "wonderful people of Bull Shoals."
