Donated for Pyatt Fire & Defense Radio Equipment
November 1999

Three original organizers of the Pyatt Fire & Defense Association
accept a grant of $7,560 from South Shore Foundation that will be
used to update the department's radio equipment. Shown are (from

of South Shore Foundation; Chuck Copeland, assistant fire chief;
and George Keys, captain. The grant will make possible the purchase
of 18 portable radios for fire trucks and for each firefighter,
at a cost of $420 for each radio. The Pyatt Fire & Defense Association
service area covers 350 households, including the town of Pyatt,
and provides fire and rescue, medical first responders, Skywarn
weather watch, search and rescue, and other services. South Shore
Foundation is the nonprofit, charitable foundation of Northern Arkansas
Telephone Company at Flippin. For more information about the foundation
