Bates Joins South Shore Foundation Board

Roger C. Bates of Yellville, a retired AT&T
manager, is a new member of the South Shore Foundation Board.
South Shore Foundation is the charitable division of NATCO Communications
in Flippin. The term is for three years.
Bates spent 33 years employed in the telephone
industry, including management of comptrollers, marketing, and
general staff organizations in several states. He has resided
in Yellville 17 years, relocating from Norman, Okla. Bates holds
a bachelor’s degree in business
administration from Hendrix College at Conway.
Bates said joining the South Shore Foundation Board will be an
opportunity to serve the area. He is a member of the Mid-Marion
County Rotary Club and First Presbyterian Church at Yellville.
He enjoys hobby farming, woodworking, and singing in a choir and
quartet. He and his wife Shelby have two children, six grandchildren,
and two great-grandchildren.
The South Shore Foundation awards grants to
nonprofit agencies for projects of educational advancement, environmental
preservation, and economic development. It funds college and
vocational scholarships for Marion, Boone, and Baxter county
students.
