ASUMH Students Receive South Shore Scholarships
Four students at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, who
have been selected to receive scholarships funded annually
through a South Shore Foundation endowment, are shown with
Dr. Pat Bailey, vice chancellor for academic and student

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has awarded four scholarships
for the 2008-09 academic year from the South Shore Foundation Endowment
to Arkansas State University Foundation. Dr. Pat Bailey, vice chancellor
for academic and student affairs, announced the recipients. South
Shore Foundation is the charitable arm of NATCO at Flippin.
The recipients are Marcus Barger of Mountain
Home, a 2008 graduate of Mountain Home High School, studying
to become an information systems networking specialist; Kimberly
Booth of Salesville, a 1986 graduate of Thayer High School, studying
information technology; Logan Sheehan, a 2008 graduate of Yellville-Summit
High School, studying computer technology; and Margaret Holland
of Lakeview, a 1981 graduate of Sylvan Hills High School in North
Little Rock, studying to teach middle school level math and science.
South Shore Foundation specifies that recipients
reside in Baxter, Marion, or Boone County. The scholarship pays
$1,520 for two semesters and may be renewed up to a maximum of
four semesters or until completion of the associate degree, provided
the student keeps a “B” average.
Applications for the South Shore Foundation Endowed Scholarship
are available annually from the Arkansas State University-Mountain
Home Financial Aid Office, 870-508-6195, and are due each year
by April 1.
