Scholarships to Attend ASUMH

Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has awarded four scholarships
for the 2007-08 academic year from the South Shore Foundation Endowment
to Arkansas State University Foundation. Dr. Pat Bailey, vice chancellor
for academic and student affairs, made the announcement.
South Shore Foundation is the charitable arm of NATCO at Flippin.
The recipients are Dustin Johnson of Gassville,
a 2005 graduate of Cotter High School, studying to become a computer
networking specialist; Jesse Wilcoxson, also a 2005 graduate
of Cotter High School, studying business technology to become
a computer technician; Harley Stice of Flippin, a nontraditional
student enrolled in the associate of arts degree program, studying
graphic design; and Dena Nelson, a 2005 graduate of Mountain
Home High School, in the associate of arts degree program, studying
pre-pharmacy, to pursue further education to become a pharmacist.
South Shore Foundation specifies that recipients
reside in Baxter, Marion, or Boone County. The scholarship pays
$674 per semester and may be renewed up to a maximum of four
semesters or until completion of the associate degree, provided
the student keeps a “B” average.
Applications for a South Shore Foundation Endowed Scholarship
are available annually from the Arkansas State University-Mountain
Home Financial Aid Office, 870-508-6127, and are due each year
by April 1.
