Arkansas State University-Mountain Home has awarded four scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year from the South Shore Foundation Endowment to Arkansas State University Foundation. Dr. Pat Bailey, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs, made the announcement.

South Shore Foundation is the charitable arm of NATCO at Flippin.

The recipients are Dustin Johnson of Gassville, a 2005 graduate of Cotter High School, studying to become a computer networking specialist; Jesse Wilcoxson, also a 2005 graduate of Cotter High School, studying business technology to become a computer technician; Harley Stice of Flippin, a nontraditional student enrolled in the associate of arts degree program, studying graphic design; and Dena Nelson, a 2005  graduate of Mountain Home High School, in the associate of arts degree program, studying pre-pharmacy, to pursue further education to become a pharmacist.

South Shore Foundation specifies that recipients reside in Baxter, Marion, or Boone County. The scholarship pays $674 per semester and may be renewed up to a maximum of four semesters or until completion of the associate degree, provided the student keeps a “B” average.

Applications for a South Shore Foundation Endowed Scholarship are available annually from the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home Financial Aid Office, 870-508-6127, and are due each year by April 1.
