Justin
Keller
was recently named one of four Arkansas State
University Mountain
Home students to receive the 2006 South Shore Foundation ASUMH
Endowed Scholarship. Recipients are chosen by the ASU Mountain
Home Scholarship Committee. The financial assistance is funded
by an endowment to the ASU Foundation from South Shore Foundation,
the charitable arm of NATCO at Flippin.
Keller moved
up from first alternate for the scholarship to a recipient when
another recipient’s plans to attend ASUMH changed. Each
student receiving this scholarship is studying math, science,
technology, or preparing to teach math, science or technology.
Keller, a 2006
graduate of Mountain Home High School, is working toward an associate
of arts degree at ASUMH and plans to continue his education for
a career in engineering. He joins other 2006 recipients with
career plans as follows: Janet Atkinson, nuclear science; Amy
McLean, information systems; Sally Stone, early childhood education.
South Shore
Foundation specifies that recipients reside in Baxter, Marion,
or Boone County. The scholarship currently pays $635 per semester
and may be renewed up to a maximum of four semesters or until
completion of the associate degree, provided the applicant maintains
a 3.0 grade point average.
Applications
for a South Shore Foundation Endowed Scholarship are available
annually from the Arkansas State University Mountain Home Financial
Aid Office, 870-508-6127, and are due each year by April 15.
