Scholarship winners
Three
of the four students receiving the 2005 South Shore Foundation
scholarships to attend Arkansas State University Mountain

Four Arkansas
State University Mountain Home students are recipients of 2005 South
Shore Scholarships. These scholarships are funded by an endowment
to the ASU Foundation from South Shore Foundation, the charitable
foundation of NATCO at Flippin.
Jay Heim of
Yellville joins three repeating recipients of the South Shore Scholarship:
Arthur Kittleson of Norfork, Lisa Bennett and Beverly Arrowood of
Mountain Home. The scholarships are awarded to students seeking
an Associate of Arts or Associate of Applied Science degree at Arkansas
State University Mountain Home who are enrolled in a technology,
mathematics or science program.
South Shore
Foundation specifies that recipients must reside in Baxter, Marion
or Boone County. The scholarship currently pays $414 per semester
and may be renewed up to a maximum of four semesters or until completion
of the associate degree, provided the applicant maintains a 3.0
grade point average.
Heim, the son
of Tammy Heim, is a 2005 graduate of Yellville-Summit High School.
He plans to become a Networking Administrator/Teacher.
Kittleson, son
of Barney and Betty Kittleson, is a 2004 graduate of Norfork High
School. He is currently seeking an Associate of Applied Science
in Information Systems Technology from ASUMH.
Bennett is a
graduate of Santana High School in Santee, Calif., and is working
toward an Associate of Applied Science in Business Technology Management/Marketing
and Associate of Arts.
Arrowood is
a graduate of Marshall High School. She is working toward an Associate
of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology with an emphasis
as Application Specialist.
Non-traditional
students, such as Bennett and Arrowood, are encouraged to apply
for the scholarships. Applications are available from the Arkansas
State University Mountain Home Financial Aid Office and are due
each year by April 15.
