The first group
of graduates from Marion County schools to achieve recognition as
South Shore Arkansas Scholars graduated from Bruno-Pyatt High School
May 11. Although the school officially begins the South Shore Arkansas
Scholars program next school year, these graduates had already met
the grade, attendance and college preparatory course work requirements.
Pictured from left are: (front row) Kathleen Wessels, Kristy Beaver,
and Ashley Bunting; (middle row) Jessica Gass, Tiffany Copeland,
and Ashley Keymer; (back row) Michael Methvin, Alba Taylor, Austin
Harvey, Brandon Halliday, and Trenton Elliott. As South Shore Arkansas
Scholars, these students receive special recognition on their diplomas
and transcripts for college and employment applications. Bruno-Pyatt
High School Principal Rusty Blevins, and Counselor Vicki Stokes,
along with the faculty, congratulated the students saying, "These
young people have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in every
area. It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of their
education."
