The
Sign Project:
This
was last years class project and it has run into
many problems. Entergy has brought polls but NATCO
hit rock in trying to set them. Therefore, a new
location has been picked. Trying to get a meeting
time with the landowners and NATCO present so if
any additional problems, the sign could be moved
right then. The logo for the sign will be “Experience
the Four Seasons in Marion County.” Much discussion
was made about what all should appear on the sign
along with the pictures of our area. Should we include
chambers of commerce names, phone numbers, e-mail
or website addresses. Dana is needing pictures for
the scenes. They need to be in .jpg format. Decision
was made to have the background of the sign in yellow
with red lettering. Mike Ragland made a motion that
we allow Dana to locate pictures and arrange them
and to get with Steven and just complete the project.
Bylaws:
In
order for our team to file for our 501C3 we needed
to have bylaws setting out officers. Roger went
to the internet and choose a generic set and completed
those for us. Election for new officers: Mark Kapshandy,
President; Randy Livingston, Vice President; Cindi
Davenport, Secretary/Treasurer. Dale made a motion
that we accept these and David seconded.
New Class Organization:
We
are in need of three people to coordinate next years
class. Some discussion was made about adding a ropes
course to the agenda for next year. Nominations
for this committee are: Eve West, Randy Livingston,
and Mike Drexler. Mark made a motion that we accept
all three as the committee for coordinating the
class and David seconded.
New Projects:
Three
projects: Work Scholarship Program, ACE Certification,
and Restoration of Courthouse. Mike will be chairing
the committee for the work scholarship program.
This program will involve businesses in the community
contributing for a new scholarship program. The
three business sectors are retail, service, and
industry. The ACE certification project will be
chaired by Randy. This is a project that we will
try to complete as a county rather than a city.
The restoration of the courthouse will be chaired
by Mark. He has already been attending the meeting
already in place. This project is expected to take
$1,000,000 to complete.
