Shore Foundation contributes to Marion County Youth Leadership Team

FLIPPIN,
Ark. -- South Shore Foundation recently granted $2,500 to
the Marion County Youth Leadership Team 4-H, a leadership skills
training program for 21 ninth-grade students in Marion County schools.
Organizers are the Marion County Cooperative Extension Service,
Entergy, and Marion County Leadership Team. Businesses and individuals
have also contributed toward the approximate $5,000 budget for youth
activities through April 2001.
The
goal of the Youth Leadership Team activities is to help youth identify
and achieve their goals, according to Renee E. Myers, County Extension
Agent - Family and Consumer Science for Marion County. Sessions
will be held concerning communications and teamwork, goal setting
and decision making, civic responsibilities and career awareness.
Members will also work on community service projects.

Telephone Company. The foundation makes grants to nonprofit agencies
to advance education, preserve the environment, develop the local
