Will Purchase Amplifiers for Boone County Special Services
October, 1999
South Shore Foundation at Flippin recently granted Boone County
Special Services $5,740 to purchase six FM Classroom Amplification
Units. Among those who will benefit from the grant are those pictured
with South Shore Foundation Trustee Betty Barker Smith (standing,
left) and Boone County Special Services Fiscal Officer Kim Cheek
(standing right) Accepting the check for Boone County Special Services
is Brock Markle. Shown seated are Terry Berg (left) and Danny Ott
(right). The amplification units will help those with hearing impairments
distinguish sounds of the human voice from background sounds in
the classroom and in work settings. Boone County Special Services
Executive Director Brenda Brown said Boone County Special Services
serves more than 75 adults and children with developmental delays.
South Shore Foundation is the nonprofit, charitable foundation
of Northern Arkansas Telephone Company at Flippin.
