Yellville to Host Annual Turkey Trot Festival October 8-9
October 1999

The north-central town of Yellville will hold its annual tribute to fall with the 54th annual Turkey Trot Festival, October 8 and 9. Theme of this year's event is "It's Struttin' Time." Events scheduled to take place include the National Wild Turkey Calling Contest, the Turkey Trot parade, an art show, a 5K run, a turkey dinner, and a National Wild Turkey Federation auction. Other activities slated for the festival are a lip sync contest, entertainment and a turkey target shoot. Food and crafts booths will be around the court square. The Miss Turkey Trot Pageant, Millennium Magic, will be held prior to the festival on October 2. In addition, Miss Drumsticks will be a part of the pageant.
